Blackmoor Golf Club - Bordon


Since its original design and formation by Harry Colt in 1913 Blackmoor has matured into a most beautiful heathland course which adheres to the modern tradition of the game. Located at the western end of the belt of glorious golfing country which covers the Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey borders, the Golf Club lies in a picturesque stretch of the dark purple heather from which Blackmoor takes its name. Groves of birch and fir abound, while the fine sandy soil, firm natural turf and the heather rough virtually guarantee the quality of the golf played throughout the year. Course maintained in top condition for golf all year. In order to maintain its position as one of Hampshire's finest courses, the Club has been involved in a heavy investment programme.

A forestry and heathland conservation programme is in place, and the Clubs policy is to ensure the long-term future of its outstanding asset. The sandy heathland has excellent drainage properties, resulting in fine year-round golfing conditions. Our own natural resource, a bore hole, provides a comprehensive irrigation system serving tees, fairways and greens. The new clubhouse, which was built in 1990, provides modern locker rooms with shower and changing facilities. Situated between the 10th & 11th holes you will find the halfway hut where you are able to purchase bacon sandwiches, coffee and other light refreshments.

Jane Austens House


The Jane Austen Museum is housed in a charming red-brick seventeenth-century house, listed in the National Archives as a building of historic interest. It was Jane's last home, where she lived with her mother and sister Cassandra from 1809 until 1817. Here Jane revised her earlier manuscript novels Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice and Northanger Abbey, and then wrote Mansfield Park, Emma and Persuasion.The rooms on show include the drawing-room and the parlour where Jane wrote on the small round table. Upstairs is her bedroom with the patchwork quilt she made with her mother and sister. A pretty garden surrounds the house, stocked with many old varieties of flowers and herbs. Jane's donkey carriage is displayed in the old bakehouse.


The Drift Golf Club - East Horsley


Originally part of the Lord Lovelace Estate, the Drift Golf Club nestles at the foot of the North Surrey Hills just 20 miles from the centre of London. Created in the mid-70s by Sir Henry Cotton and architect Robert Sandow, the par 73 18-hole course is 6,425 yards long. It is completely tree-lined with the back nine tightly packed with rhododendrons - a spectacular sight in season. Wildlife is abundant with deer, fox, ducks and multitudes of rabbits, along with the Club mascot - the pheasant being regular visitors. The Clubhouse offers a spectacular view over the 18th Green with the bar and lounge opening out onto a patio area. The clubhouse offers a varied selection of light snacks and meals served throughout the day. Visitors are welcome to play from 2pm on Saturdays, from 12 noon on Sundays and mid-week everyday except Monday and Wednesday mornings. Dorking Golf Club are pleased to extend an invitation to all visitors and small golfing parties to come along and enjoy the golf course. Bookings are avilable for small individual groups and societies with as little as 8 players and a maximum of 48 players. The Club Lounge is open daily serving a variety of bar snacks and a daily specials board. With views over looking the 18th fairway and the Surrey countryside it is an ideal location to bring friends and family for a lunch time treat.
